"Stories Beneath the Water" is a single-channel video installation with sound that deals with an interpretive reaction to the TVA grave removal project. In this extensive project, over 22,000 graves were surveyed. Some were relocated, others were left in-situ under the reservoirs.
The video, projected onto a bed of sculpted sand, speaks to the disconnection between the living above the reservoirs and the dead remaining beneath. The paperwork wall displays official documents involved in the decision to relocate or leave the remains.
